Pharmacological properties
Prednipharm Solutab belongs to the group of glucocorticosteroids. It provides anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, immunosuppressive, antipruritic, and antiexudative effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-adrenergic receptors to candogenic catecholamines.

Indications

Prednipharm Solutab is used in dogs and cats:

  • skin diseases of various genesis
  • inflammatory processes of various genesis
  • systemic connective tissue diseases, including rheumatism
  • acute infectious diseases
  • bronchial asthma, asthmatic status of the animal
  • allergic reactions, anaphylactoid reactions, serum sickness
  • autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, adrenal gland insufficiency, progressive ophthalmopathy
  • stress conditions
  • some oncological diseases

Dosage and method of administration

Prednipharm Solutab is administered to animals individually perorally mixed with feed or as a water suspension. To make an administration easier, it is possible to pre-dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and administer it using a syringe dispenser or a standard syringe for injection.

As an anti-inflammatory agent (for inflammatory processes of various origins, including diseases of the skin, musculoskeletal system, acute infectious diseases)


0.25-0.5 mg of prednisone per 1 kg of animal body weight

As an agent of immunoregulation (including for the removal of sensitization and itching in skin diseases of autoimmune origin, allergic and anaphylactoid reactions, serum sickness, autoimmune hemolytic and aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, progressive ophthalmopathy) and replacement therapy for adrenal insufficiency

0.5-2 mg of prednisone per 1 kg of animal body weight

As a cytostatic agent (for oncological diseases)

2-4 mg of prednisone per 1 kg of animal body weight

The dose of the veterinary drug, the frequency and duration of the course of treatment are set by a veterinarian individually, depending on the indications, the severity of the disease and the condition of the animal. In some cases, prolonged use of the veterinary drug is possible.

Restrictions

Contraindications and special instructions:
Heart failure.
Kidney failure.
Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Hypercorticism (Cushing's syndrome).
Diabetes mellitus.
Osteoporosis.
Predisposition to thromboembolism, severe arterial hypertension, ascites, viral diseases.
The vaccination period (immediately before and during vaccination).
In high doses, ascites, hypokalemia and systemic fungal infections are contraindications to use.
