Pharmacological properties

Milmax-Nita for dogs belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group: anthelmintics in combinations. It provides a broad-spectrum anthelmintic action.
Milbemycin oxime, which is part of Milmax-Nita for dogs, is a macrocyclic lactone obtained as a result of the enzymatic activity of Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. Aureolacrimosus is active against scabies mites, larvae and imago nematodes parasitizing cats, as well as larvae of the nematode Dirofilaria immitis.

Indications

Milmax-Nita for dogs is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of nematodes, cestodes and mixed nematode-cestode invasions, including:

  • cestodes - Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp., Mesocestoides spp.
  • nematodes - Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis, Thelazia callipaeda; Angiostrongylus vasorum, Crenosoma vulpis, Dirofilaria immitis

A preliminary starvation diet and the use of laxatives before deworming are not required.

For therapeutic purposes, dogs are dewormed according to indications, for preventive purposes - quarterly, as well as before each vaccination and mating in a therapeutic dose.

For deworming of dogs with an invasion caused by Angiostrongylus vasorum, Milmax-Nita for dogs is used for therapeutic purposes four times with an interval of 7 days, for the preventive purposes - every 4 weeks at a therapeutic dose.

For the deworming of dogs with an invasion caused by Thelazia callipaeda, the drug is used twice with an interval of 7 days.

In order to prevent dirofilariasis in regions unfavorable for the disease, the veterinary drug is used in the spring-summer-autumn period: one month before the beginning of summer, mosquitoes and mosquitoes (carriers of the causative agent D.immitis), then continue every 30 days until the end of the season, the last treatment is carried out once a month after the end of the insect summer.

The veterinary drug can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Restrictions

Contraindications and special instructions:
Individual hypersensitivity of animals to the components of the drug (including in the anamnesis), severe renal and liver dysfunction.
Should not be used in puppies younger than 2 weeks of age and weighing less than 0.5 kg.
Deworming of dogs of Collie, Bobtail and Sheltie breeds is carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian, if necessary.
Animals that are emaciated and sick with infectious diseases are not subject to deworming.
