Pharmacological properties

Levamisole hydrochloride has a broad spectrum of antinematodic activity. It is very effective against larvae and mature forms of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes.

Indications
Levamisole 75 is used for deworming:
cattle, sheep, and goats in cases of dicrocoeliosis, hemotongososis, bunostomosis, ostertagiosis, haemonchosis, cooperiosis, and strongyloidosis
pigs in cases of ascariasis, esophagostomosis, strongyloidosis, trichocephalosis, hyostrongylosis, and metastrongylosis
dogs in cases of toxocarosis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, and ancylostomosis

Dosage and method of administration

Prior to use, Levamizol 75 does not require starvation diet and application of laxatives

Cattle, small ruminants

Dictyocaulosis, haemonchosis, bunostomosis, oesophagostomiasis, nematodirosis, ostertagiosis, chabertiosis, cooperiosis, and strongyloidosis

Intramuscularly or subcutaneously

1 ml/10 kg of animal body weight; once

Pigs

Ascariasis, oesophagostomiasis, strongyloidosis, trichocephalosis, chiostrongyloidosis, and metastrongylosis

Subcutaneously

Dogs

Toxocariasis, toxascaridosis, uncinariosis, and ancylostomosis

Maximal dose of injected drug shall not exceed the following values:

  • in cattle – 30 ml

  • in pigs – 20 ml

  • in sheep – 4.5 ml.

Restrictions
Contraindications and special instructions:
Avoid using the drug simultaneously within 10 days before and 10 days after organophosphorus drugs, pyrantel, morantel, and chloramphenicol were administered.

Withdrawal period:
meat: 7 days
milk: 3 days
