Prednisone, which is part of Mastiguard, is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and decongestant effects.
Before administration, the contents of the udder lobe are dried, the milk is disinfected by boiling and disposed of. The nipple is wiped from the outside with a 70% alcohol solution or a special antiseptic cloth. When administered to calm animals, only the upper part of the cap covering the cannula of the syringe is removed, and for restless animals, the cap is completely removed.
