The active substance of the drug, an organic compound of iodine (povidone-iodine), combines with the proteins of a microbial cell, blocking its respiratory enzymes, which leads to death.

Before the introduction of the suppository of the drug, the external genitalia and the root of the tail are sanitized.

When the cervix is closed and it is impossible to administer the drug in the form of suppositories, it is recommended to use it as a solution. To prepare the solution, it is recommended to dissolve one suppository in 150-200 ml of sterile saline solution or water preheated to 40 ° C. The destruction of the resulting foam is carried out mechanically or with the help of defoamers (ethyl alcohol). The resulting solution should be filled into a Janet's syringe or Esmarch's irrigator and injected intrauterine, slowly using an artificial insemination catheter or a silicone tube 20-25 cm long, 0.5 cm in diameter, with a polystyrene pipette at the end. The treatment is carried out once a day, until recovery.
