Leading Russian manufacturer NITA-FARM introduces Fertoxel, a new hormonal product designed specifically for industrial swine farming. Its active ingredient, altrenogest, is formulated with a palatable taste to ensure effective reproductive management in pigs.

The active substance, altrenogest, is a synthetic progestogen analog that reduces plasma concentrations of endogenous gonadotropins, thereby suppressing follicular development and delaying estrus and ovulation throughout the treatment period.
Following withdrawal of Fertoxel, a synchronized estrus occurs due to a surge in gonadotropin release, which stimulates follicular growth and maturation.
Fertoxel is used in:
• Weaned sows to prevent low prolificacy (second-litter syndrome)
• Sexually mature replacement gilts to synchronize estrus, enabling the formation of uniform management groups and improving litter size
Synchronized estrus typically occurs 5–7 days after the last treatment, depending on individual animal characteristics.
