By the nature of inflammatory exudate, pneumonias can be serous, fibrinous, hemorrhagic, catarrhal, purulent, putrefactive and mixed, and by localization of the pathological process, there are alveolitis (lesion of several alveoli), acinous pneumonia (small foci of lesions at the terminal bronchial branches), lobular pneumonia (lesion of several lobules ), overwhelming pneumonia, segmental pneumonia, lobar (lobar - lesion of the whole lung lobe) and total (pathological process affected the entire lung). In some cases, interstitial and peribronchial pneumonias are distinguished. In agricultural animals, the most common are catarrhal (bronchopneumonia) and fibrinous (croupous) pneumonias.
