Preventive (functional) foot trimming

Step 1

1. Measurement of length (from coronary band to toe)

Step 2

2. Hoof trimming (trimming is started from the rear part of the limb: internal hoof - then front limb - external hoof). The height of sole on the toe is at least 5 mm. The heel area should not be touched - minimal trimming, correcting, the main work is on the front (toe) half of the hoof sole part.

Step 3

Fitting by length and height of the next hoof against the first hoof.

Step 4

Removal - formation of cavities

Step 5

If necessary - releasing the load from the lesion area (Step 5 is omitted for a healthy hoof)

Step 6

Removal of burrs and correction of the vestigial structures length
