Endometritis

Acute postpartum endometritis is an inflammaory condition of the endometrial mucosa, it develops in the first 10-14 days after delivery, by the nature of the exudate, it is classified into serous, catarrhal, catarrhal-purulent, fibrinous.

Calving Postpartum period

Treatment. Regimen No.1

In case of retention of afterbirth for over 12 hours, thermometry is carried out for 5 days.
If the temperature is increased Regimen No.1 is prescribed.

Endometritis
1 Antibiotics treatment (choice of drugs in accordance with the sensitivity of the defined microflora) Ceftonit* s.c. 1 ml/50 kg of animal bwt at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days
Lexoflon** i.m. 1 ml/30 kg of animal bwt at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days
Ceftonit* 1 ml/50 kg of animal bwt SC at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days
Ceftonit Forte* 1 ml/30 kg of animal bwt SC, once
Amoxicillin 150 1 ml/10 kg of animal bwt IM or SC, once, repeat in 48 hours if necessary
Amoxygard i.m. 1 ml/20 kg of animal bwt at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days 
2 Symptomatic therapy (in case of body temperature rise) Flunex i.m. or i.v. 2 ml/45 kg of animal bwt at 24-hour interval, for 5 days max. 
2 Substitutive therapy and stimulation of metabolism Nitamin once per 4-8 weeks at a dose of 0.2-0.25 ml/10 kg of animal bwt IM or SC
Butofan 10-25 ml/animal IM, SC or IV every 24 hours for 4-5 days, repeat the treatment course if necessary 
3 Agent promoting contractions of uterine smooth muscles Nitamin once per 4-8 weeks at a dose of 0.2-0.25 ml/10 kg of animal bwt IM or SC 

Drugs without limitations regarding milk use

** Used for treatment of mastitis diagnosed in service-period

Treatment. Regimen No.2

In case of retention of afterbirth for over 12 hours, it is separated by surgery on the 2-3 day
If the temperature is increased Regimen No.2 is prescribed.

Chronic endometritis

Chronic endometritis is a long-lasting inflammatory condition of the endometrial mucosa where degenerative changes develop in the uterus and the activity of healthy or regenerated uterine glands intensifies. It often develops from acute endometritis, by the nature of the exudate, it is classified into catarrhal, catarrhal-purulent, purulent.

Endometritis
1 Agent promoting contractions of uterine smooth muscles  Uteroton 10 ml/animal IM or IV three times every 24 hours 
2 Antibiotics treatment (choice of drugs in accordance with the sensitivity of the defined microflora) Ceftonit* 1 ml/50 kg of animal bwt SC at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days 
Ceftonit Forte* 1 ml/30 kg of animal bwt SC, once 
Lexoflon 1 ml/30 kg of animal bwt IM at 24-hour interval for 3-5 days
