Rapid tissue penetration
Selective accumulation in the lungs and tissues
Highly efficient against mycoplasma and spirochetes
Long-term and guaranteed protection due to the lipophilicity of the drug
An antibacterial drug with a prolonged effect specifically designed for a highly effective treatment of mycoplasmoses and bronchopneumonia in pigs.
Tialong is a clear light yellow to yellow liquid.
Packing: 100 mLglass bottles filled with a sterile solution
100 mg tiamulin (expressed as the base)
Tialong refers to antibacterial drugs. Tiamulin has bacteriostatic activity by inhibiting protein synthesis of the microbial cell at the ribosomal level, and is highly active against mycoplasmas, including M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M.hyosynoviae, spirochetes (B.hyodysenteriae, B. pilosicoli), Gram-positive aerobes, including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes and anaerobes (Clostridium spp.), Gramnegative anaerobes, including Lawsonia intracellularis, Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium spp., and aerobes (Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida). The drug is not effective against bacteria of Enterobacteriaceae family, including Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli.
After parenteral application of Tialong, tiamulin is quickly and fully absorbed from the injection site and distributed along the organs and tissues of an animal; tiamulin concentration reaches its therapeutic value in 1.5 to 2 hours. Tialong is excreted from the body mostly with bile and partially with urine.
Tialong is prescribed for pigs to treat dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, pleuropneumonia, and infectious arthritis.
Tialong is administered to pigs intramuscularly once a day at the following doses:
at dysentery caused by B.hyodysenteriae, including the cases complicated with Bacteroides spp. or Fusobacterium spp.: 8 mg of thiamulin base per 1 kg of animal body weight, which corresponds to 1 mL of the drug per 12.5 kg of animal body weight, for 1 to 2 days.
at enzootic pneumonia caused by M.hyopneumoniae, including the cases complicated with Pasteurella multocida or Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, and infectious arthritis caused by M.hyosynoviae: 12.3 mg of tiamulin base per 1 kg of animal body weight, which corresponds to 1.5 mLof the drug per 12.5 kg of animal body weight, for 3 days.
at pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae: 12.3 mg of tiamulin base per 1 kg of animal body weight, which corresponds to 1.5 mL of the drug per 12.5 kg of animal body weight, for 2 to 3 days.
As a pain reaction may occur, when the drug is administered in a volume exceeding 5 mL in adult pigs and 2.5 mLin piglets, injections shall be administered in several injection sites
Avoid using Tialong concurrently with, 7 days before, and 7 after administering polyester ionophores, incl. monensin, narasin, and salinomycin, as side effects and complications may occur in animals, thus causing their significantly slower growth or death.
Animals can be slaughtered for human consumption not earlier than 16 days after the last injection of Tialong was made. In the case of forced slaughter of animals and poultry before the established deadlines, the meat can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals.
2 years from the date of manufacture; after first opening - 28 days.
