  • Pharmacological properties
  • Pharmacological properties

Tetragidrovit compensates for vitamin deficiency in the animal body. Vitamin A regulates structure, function, and regeneration of epithelial tissues, thus increasing resistance against infections. Vitamin D3 regulates calcium and phosphor exchange and affects their absorption in the gastrointestinal system; it decreases the chance of rickets formation, thus preventing bone tissue diseases. Vitamin E regulates redox processes, affects carbohydrate-lipid exchange, and enhances effects of vitamin A and vitamin D3. Vitamin C is an important factor for normal growth and increases the protective functions of the body.

  • Indications
  • Indications

Tetragidrovit is prescribed to prevent or to treat vitamin deficiency and normalize metabolism in the following situations:

    • during pregnancy (only second half) and lactation
    • during dysfunctions of the reproductive function
    • in case of animal growth inhibition and insufficient weight gain
    • in case of contagious and invasive diseases
    • in case of preventative vaccinations and dehelminthization;
    • in case of stressful situations
    • in case of surgical operations or injuries
    • at decreased productivity and additional loads
    • when moving animals
    • when replacing feed at fattening.
Together with application of drug, animal feed rations shall also be balanced in proteins, phosphor, calcium, magnesium, and microelements.

  • Dosage and route of administration
  • Dosage and route of administration

Tetragidrovit is administered to animals subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

Recommended doses of the drug, taking into account the species, age, and method of administration:

Animal species Dose, mL/10 kg of animal body weight    Animal species  Dose, mL/10 kg of animal body weight
     Cattle, horses  0,2-0,25  Sows  0,3-0,45
Calves, foals  0,2-0,5  Fattening pigs  0,2-0,3
     Sheep, goats  0,5-0,8  Piglets  0,4-1,0
     Lambs  1,5-2,0  Dogs, cats  0,2-0,3
Rabbits, fur-bearing animals  0,6-1,0  Laying hens  2 mL/1 L of drinking water (orally)
Chickens  1,5 mL/1 L of drinking water (orally)  Turkey  3 mL/1 L of drinking water (orally)

In poultry, the drug is administered orally diluted to obtain the dose of 1.5 to 3 mL/L of water.

In order to prevent the disease, Tetragidrovit is used once every 2 to 3 weeks in the dosages mentioned above; to treat the disease, the dose and frequency of use are increased by 2 to 3 times. In dry cows, the drug is applied in 1 to 1.5 months before calving.

  • Restrictions
  • Restrictions

No restrictions set for the human consumption of any product, obtained from the animals treated with the drug.

    CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypervitaminosis or hypersensitivity to the drug components. Avoid using the drug concurrently with corticosteroid hormones. They contribute to the elimination of vitamin D3 from the body, as well as disrupt the absorption and metabolism of calcium. Administered concurrently with the drug, cardiac glycosides may intensify toxic effects of the latter (risk of cardiac arrhythmias increases). Concurrent use with tetracyclines increases the risk of intracranial hypertension. The drug should be used with caution, when administered concurrently with NSAIDs as it increases the effect of the latter. Avoid contact of the drug solutions with disinfectants and oxidants.

    SHELF LIFE

18 months from the date of manufacture; after first opening - 14 days.
