It enhances and regulates the processes of excitation in the cerebral cortex, strengthens conditioned reflexes and increases motor activity. The stimulating effect of caffeine leads to increased physical performance, reduces fatigue and sleepiness. The action depends on the dose of the drug, as well as on the type of higher nervous activity of animals. The drug increases heart activity, diuresis, gas exchange, water and nitrogen metabolism.
Caffeine-sodium benzoate is used for excitation of the central nervous system in case of poisoning, fatigue, muscle weakness in various diseases.
It is used to drive the cardiovascular system during cardiac weakness, decreased excitability and conduction in the heart, and shock. It is used in chronic myocarditis, muscular dystrophy, chronic miodegenerations, as a vasodilator in vascular spasm in the brain, kidneys, heart.
Caffeine-sodium benzoate is also used for the excitation of the respiratory center in case of suppression and weakening of breathing muscles, in spastic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, birth palsy in cows, fatigue, various diseases of infectious and toxic origin.
