Iodopovidone

A modern iodopovidone-based antiseptic for local treatment and disinfection with painless, yet more pronounced antimicrobial action as compared with traditional medications.

No stress in animals, as the drug does not cause burns of the skin and mucous membranes, due to gentle action of an aqueous organic iodine solution and no corrosive solvents (e. g. alcohol) included to the composition

An expressed antimicrobial action due to gradual release of iodine and a prolonged contact of the antiseptic with the pathogenic environment

Protection of wounds with a thin layer formed after application of the drug

Active against all types of microorganisms (i. e. bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa)

No resistance of microorganisms

Possible application to the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, etc.

  • Pharmacological properties
  • Pharmacological properties

Septo-spray is an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and vulnerary drug. When Septo-spray contacts the skin and mucosa, iodopovidone complex decomposes with release of active iodine, which has a strong antimicrobial effect: it oxidizes active groups of proteins in bacterial protoplasm and causes their denaturation.

Iodine is efficient against all types of microbes (bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoans). No known microbe is resistant to iodine. After application of Septo-spray onto the skin, it temporarily changes its colour to light yellow.
