Tilmicosin, which is formulated into the drug, is active against many gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria including Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, as well as against Mycoplasma spp.
Tilmicosin bacteriostatic action mechanism involves the inhibition of protein synthesis on bacterial cell ribosomes.

Pnevmotil FEED is used for therapeutic and preventive purposes for young and adult swine with respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Arcanobacterium pyogenes and other microorganisms sensitive to tilmicosin.
