    Neozidin M has a wide range of antiprotozoan activity; it is effective against causative parasite agents of the following diseases of bovine animals, sheep, horses and dogs: babesiosis, pyroplasmosis, fransaiellesis, trypanosomiasis, theleriasis and nuttaliosis.
    The mechanism of action for diminazene diaceturate (the active substance of this drug) is as follows: diminazene diaceturate inhibits aerobic glycolysis and DNA synthesis in blood parasites, which leads to destruction of their cellular structure and subsequent death. After parenteral administration of the drug, concentration of diminazene diaceturate in blood reaches its therapeutic level within 3-5 hours and remains at this level for 24 hours. The drug mostly accumulates in the liver and kidneys; it is eliminated with urine; in lactating animals, it can also partially be eliminated with milk.
    Neozidin M belongs to moderately hazardous substances; if the recommended dose is observed, the drug does not have any sensitizing, embrytoxic or teratogenic effect and does not cause local irritation.

    Neozidin M can be used as a therapeutic and preventive measure against the following diseases of bovine cattle, sheep, horses and dogs: trypanosomiasis, babesiosis, fransaiellesis, nuttaliosis, theleriasis and mixed invasions.

    As a therapeutic measure for farm animals, Neozidin M shall be applied intramuscularly at a doseof 1 mL per 20 kg of animal weight.
    If after the first administration of the drug, the temperature of the treated animal has not dropped and its general condition has not improved, the same dose of the drug can be administered once more after 24 hours.
    For dogs, Neozidin M shall be administered twice within 1-2 hours at a dose of 0.5 mL per 10 kg of the animal weight. The drug can be administered only once if Neozidin M is diluted with sterile solvent in 1:1 proportion.
    For dogs, it is necessary to make an injection of antihistaminic drug (in accordance with its method of administration) before applying Neozidin M.
    Treated animals shall be provided with necessary rest and symptomatic treatment (with cardiac drugs, laxatives, vitamins or micronutrients) as appropriate to their physiological state.
    If the required volume of the drug exceeds 10 mL, several injections in different places shall be made.
    As a preventive measure, a therapeutic dose of Neozidin M shall be applied once if animals with clinical symptoms of the above mentioned diseases have been found in the herd or if the herd has been transferred to an area troubled with blood protozoan diseases. If necessary, the drug can be administered once more after 10 – 15 days.
    Before mass application of Neozidin M, each drug batch shall be first tested on a small group of animals (5-10 heads). If no complications are observed, the batch can be used for the remaining herd .

    Treated animals can be slaughtered for food no sooner than 21 days after last application of Neozidin M. In case of compulsory slaughter occurring before the above stated period, meat of slaughtered animals can be reprocessed into bone tankage.
    Milk of milking animals can be used as food no sooner than 5 days after last application of Neozidin M. This milk can be used as animal feed after heat treatment.
