Highly effective, retained bactericidal activity for 24 hours in case of wet application and for 48 hours in case of aerosol application1
Broad-spectrum bactericidal, virucidal, and fungicidal activity
Active in the conditions of organic contamination and hard water used
No destruction to metals, plastics, rubber, and other materials.
A cost-effective agent with proven efficacy to disinfect veterinary facilities.
GAN is an orange liquid with a specific odour, highly water-miscible; it gives an acid reaction.
Packing: 1 L polymer bottles or 5 L and 20 L polymer canisters with protective suit “Casper”.
50 mg glutaraldehyde
50 mg glyoxal
100 mg alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride (cata-surfactant)
GAN has a bactericidal effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, virucidal activity and fungicidal action.
GAN working solutions do not have a corrosive activity, do not destruct the materials of treated surfaces, do not corrode metal, do not destroy plastic, rubber, and other materials. High water hardness does not decrease the product performance.
GAN is used for preventive and forced disinfection of veterinary supervision facilities, including:
The drug is used to carry out a forced (current and final) disinfection of the abovementioned facilities in case of infections, the causative agents of which belong to the group of unstable (group 1) or resistant (group 2) microorganisms and the group of viruses. Before disinfection, the premises and equipment must be mechanically cleaned and washed.
Working solutions should be prepared according to the concentration and volume required for disinfection purposes, by adding necessary amounts of the agent to pipe water, the temperature of which is 8 to 25°С. When calculating concentration of a working solution, the agent is taken as a 100% substance.
The GAN - water ratio required to prepare working solutions is indicated in the Table:
Concentration of the working solution,% | Volume of the working solution, L | Required quantity | |
GAN, L | Water, L | ||
0.5 | 100 | 0.5 | 99.5 |
1.0 | 100 | 1.0 | 99 |
2.0 | 100 | 2.0 | 98 |
4.0 | 100 | 4.0 | 96 |
In the case of preventative disinfection of veterinary facilities, a 0.5% solution shall be used 2 at a consumption rate of 0.25 L/m and exposition time of 3 hours. In the case of emergency (current and final) disinfection of veterinary facilities, a 1.0% solution shall be used at a consumption rate of 0.5 L/m² and a 24-hour exposition.
The consumption rate shall be increased to 0.6 L/m² and the work solution shall be applied twice (at a dose of 0.3 L/m²) with a 60-minute interval when elements to be watered or wiped are made of porous materials (undyed wood, cement, rubber).
Preventative and emergency disinfection of feed boxes, drinking pans, and other removable equipment of animal breeding facilities is carried out by their immersion in a 0.5% GAN solution. The solution is used in a 2:1 “solution—material to be cleaned” ratio. Materials shall be exposed to the solution for 1 to 2 hours depending on the type of disinfection. After disinfection, feed boxes, drinking pans, and equipment shall be washed with warm water; then, facilities shall be ventilated and dried.
In case of especially dangerous infectious diseases, it is recommended a one-time treatment by spraying a 2% GAN working solution at a rate of 0.5 L/ m² with a 6-hour exposure or a 4% GAN working solution at a rate of 0.3 L/m² and an hour (minimum) exposure.
Disinfection (preventive or forced) by aerosol spraying of a GAN working solution (as mist) is carried out at disactivated ventilation with fog generator or other similar equipment. A working solution for aerosol disinfection is prepared by dilution of the agent at a 1:2 GAN - water ratio (thus obtaining a 10% solution). The prepared working solution is to be used 3 during the day at a rate of 10 mL/m . The working solution (10%) is to be sprayed, at deactivated ventilation, with a 24-hour exposure.
After aerosol disinfection, feeders, waterers, and equipment should be washed with warm water, premises should be ventilated and dried.
Local disinfection of individual animals (not enclosed in stalls or cages), equipment, tools, and surfaces is possible while providing intensive ventilation and no people and animals present in the immediate vicinity of the processed facilities. For disinfection, a 0.5% working solution is applied by spraying, foam generating, soaking, or wiping the surface. Disinfectant barriers and disinfectant baths are to be filled with a 1% GAN working solution. The disinfection solution shall be replaced as required, but not less than 2 to 3 times a week.
Quality control of disinfection shall be carried out in accordance with the methodology set out in the current state standard in your Country. Sodium bisulfite is used as a 0.1% neutralizing agent solution. GAN is not compatible with anionic surface-active substances (surfactants) and their solutions. To apply GAN working solutions at low temperatures (maximum 20°C), it is recommended to prepare the working solution on the basis of a 30% aqueous solution of ethylene glycol.
2 years from the date of manufacture; after first opening - 30 days.
