Proven efficiency against African swine fever virus
Highly effective, retains bactericidal activity for 24 hours in case of wet application and for 48 hours in case of aerosol application
Has a wide range of bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal activity
Active under organic contamination and with hard water
Does not destroy metals, plastics, rubber and other materials
GAN is an agent for disinfection of veterinary facilities with proven efficiency against African swine fever. GAN has a wide range of antimicrobial activity and is very effective against bacterial, viral and fungal agents that cause contagious diseases. GAN is used for preventive and forced disinfection of veterinary facilities (such as cattle, poultry and fur animal breeding facilities) and relevant equipment.
Appearance: GAN is an orange liquid with a specific smell, has an acid reaction, readily soluble in water.
GAN is available in 1 L plastic bottles or in 5 L and 20 L plastic canisters with screw-on lids.
50 mg glutaraldehyde
50 mg glyoxal
100 mg alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride
GAN has a wide range of antimicrobial activity and is effective against bacterial, viral and fungal agents that cause contagious diseases.
GAN belongs to moderately hazardous substances. GAN working solutions do not have a sensitizing effect or cause local irritation, do not corrode metal, do not destroy plastic, rubber and other materials. GAN’s activity does not decrease if water hardness is high.
GAN is used for preventive and forced disinfection of veterinary supervision objects, including:
· livestock, poultry and animal-breeding facilities and their process equipment, auxiliary facilities (including hatchery, egg store), dairy units and the stern cuisine, sanitary equipment, sanitary slaughterhouses and open objects (ramps, overpasses, platforms) packaging and clothing;
· manufacturing facilities, process equipment and territories of biological enterprises, food processing industry, as well as packaging, clothing and items of animal care;
· vehicles (including road, rail, water and air transport used for transportation of animals and birds, as well as raw materials and products of animal origin);
· veterinary clinics (stations), laboratories, vivariums, circuses and zoos.
In case of forced (current and final) disinfection of the above objects in case of infections, the causative agent of which belongs to the low stability group (group 1), stable (Group 2) microorganisms (disinfection quality of which is checked by isolation of E. coli and staphylococcus) and a group of viruses (African swine fever virus). Before disinfection, mechanical cleaning and washing of the facilities and equipment shall be done.
Work solution shall be prepared according to required concentration and volume. Concentration of work solution depends on the purpose of disinfection. Correlation between amounts of GAN and water necessary to prepare work solution is presented in the following table:

In the case of preventative disinfection of veterinary objects, a 0.5% solution shall be used with consumption rate of 0.25 l/m3 and exposition time of 3 hours.
In the case of emergency (current and final) disinfection of veterinary objects, a 1.0% solution shall be used with consumption rate of 0.5 l/m² and exposition time of 24 hours. The consumption rate shall be raised to 0.6 l/m²) and the work solution shall be applied twice (per 0,3 l/m²) with 60 min interval when watering or scrubbing elements made of porous materials (tintless wood, cement, rubber).
Preventative and emergency disinfection of feed boxes, drinking pans and other removable equipment of animal breeding facilities is carried out by their immersion in 0.5% solution of GAN. The 2:1 ratio between solution and cleansed materials shall be observed. Materials shall be exposed to solution for 1-2 hours depending on the type of disinfection. After disinfection, feed boxes, drinking pans and equipment shall be washed with warm water and facilities shall be ventilated and dried.
In case of especially dangerous infectious diseases, including African swine fever, it is recommended a single processing by the spraying of a 2% working solution GAN at a rate of 0.5 l/ m² with an exposure of 6 hours or 4% working solution GAN at the rate of 0.3 litres/ m² and exposure for at least one hour and above.
Aerosol disinfection. Disinfection (preventive or emergency) by aerosol spraying of GAN working solution in the form of mist is carried out when switched off ventilation with fog generator or other similar equipment. Working solution for aerosol disinfection is prepared by dilution of the agent at the rate of 1 part of GAN to 9 parts of water (10% solution). Prepared working solution is used during the day at a rate of 10 ml/m3. Working solution (10%) spray when switched off ventilation and air exposure for 24 hours. After aerosol disinfection of feeders, waterers and equipment should be washed with warm water, premises should be ventilated and dried.
Local disinfection of individual, free from animal stalls, cages, equipment, tools and surfaces is possible while providing intensive ventilation, the absence of people and animals in the immediate vicinity of the processed objects. Disinfection should be with 0,5% working solution by method of spray generation of the foam, soaking or wiping the surface.
Disinfectant barriers and disinfectant baths are filled in 1% working solution of GAN. Replace of the disinfection solution is kept as required, but not less than 2-3 times a 7 days.
Quality control of disinfection is carried out in accordance with the methodology set out in the existing "Regulations for disinfection and disinfestation of objects of state veterinary supervision" (2002). As a neutralizing agent 0.1% solution of sodium bisulfite is used.
GAN is not compatible with the anionic surface-active substances (surfactants) and their solutions. To apply working solutions of GAN at low temperatures (to -20°C) is recommended to prepare the working solution on the basis of a 30% aqueous solution of ethylene glycol.
