    Colistin sulfate has a powerful antimicrobial effect against a number of gram-negative microorganisms, including E. Coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Aerobacter aerogenes, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Pasteurella spp., Enterobacter spp., and Naemophilus spp. Colistin sulfate is a polypeptide antibiotic. The mechanism of action of colistin sulfate is a violation of the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane, which leads to the destruction and lysis of cells of sensitive microorganisms. After oral administration of the drug, colistin is practically not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, thus creating a high antibacterial concentration of colistin in the intestine. Colistin is excreted from the body mainly in unchanged form with feces.

    Slaughter of pigs for meat allowed no earlier than 2 days, poultry – no earlier than 6 days after the last use of the drug.

    CONTRAINDICATIONS

    Do not use Colibac 6 and 12 simultaneously with ampicillin, cephalosporin and aminoglycoside antibiotics, with muscle relaxants, since colistin increases their effect, which increases the risk of paralysis of the respiratory muscles.

    Do not use simultaneously with calcium and magnesium preparations.

    SHELF LIFE

    Storage period – 3 years from the date of production, after first opening - no more than 20 days.
