200 mg calcium gluconate
18,5 mg boronic acid
13 mg sodium tetraborate
The pharmacological activity of calcium borogluconate on animals is similar to that of calcium chloride. It has a desensitizing, anti-toxic and anti-inflammatory effect; increases the level of ionized calcium in blood, stimulates metabolism, strengthens the heart muscle. In contrast to calcium chloride, calcium borogluconate does not irritate tissues at the injection site, so it can be used for subcutaneous administration.
The drug may be used as a therapeutic and preventive measure against the following animal diseases:
· postpartum paresis, spasmophilia, esclampsia, shock, rickets, tetany, osteomalacia;
· retention of afterbirth, paraplegia gravidarum;
· allergic diseases (urticaria, seroresponse);
· magnesium intoxication, toxic liver injuries.
Calcium borgluconate after being heated up to 35-37°C shall be introduced intravenously (slowly) or subdermally with the dose being 0.5 ml per kg. In the case of subdermal injection, the drug shall be introduced intermittently in several places of the animals body. Calcium borglucnate shall be applied once, and, if necessary, once more after 24 hours with the dose being the same.
