In the recent years, breakouts of dermatitis nodularis occur with increasing frequency. Dermatitis nodularis is a viral, highly contagious disease of cattle, in most cases originating from a Neethling virus. The disease has a wide-scale, epizootic nature.

Frequently, a consecutive bacterial infection develops on the background of dermatitis nodularis leading to temperature rise and respiratory mucosal edema, which can result in animal death. By various estimates, the lethality of the disease can reach 45%.

NITA-FARM has developed an efficient treatment regimen against consecutive infection secondary to dermatitis nodularis, using the drugs Azithronit and Flunex.
