  • Pharmacological properties

Amoxicillin, which is an ingredient of the medicine, is a broad spectrum antibiotic of the penicillin group, having bactericidal effect on most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including β-lactamase producing strains: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Clostridium spp., Staphylococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus spp., Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Bacillus anthracis, Campylobacter spp., Actinomyces (Corynebacterium) pyogenes.

Clavulanic acid, inhibiting β-lactamase, protects amoxicillin from the action of this enzyme, allowing the antibiotic to have a fast bactericidal effect, including on penicillin-resistant microorganisms.
